The Pancake House
In circa 1660, this central village house was originally built as an Early American Saltbox. Around 1850 it was remodeled into the Early American Colonial style you see today. Unlike so many historic buildings, this house has stood on its original location in Rowley for over 350 years.

“Delicious food and wonderful waitstaff. The feeling is comfortable. The two small backrooms are an intimate setting with a slightly upscale country colonial ambience. It is a converted house -- the original part dates back to the 1600's and has an interesting history. A beautiful ancient beech tree sits quite close to one of the front rooms where you can admire the lovely bark and the trunk's girth.”

"On the spur of the moment, we decided to take a trip to Rowley, the Village Pancake House came highly recommended so we decided to try out their pancakes and were not disappointed. I opted to go for the steak and eggs and my friend chose the Irish eggs benedict and got a short stack of buttermilk pancakes as a “starter” and everything was delicious. The atmosphere was very comfortable, our waitress was super friendly and everyone seemed to know each other. We will definitely go back when we are in the Rowley area again."

"This place was amazing. The food was great, best french toast I've had in awhile (wasn't too eggy, if that makes sense. I'm very picky about my food lol). Coffee was continuously refilled. We sat for 2.5 hours without realizing because we were catching up, and never once felt rushed to leave or give up our table. Waitress didn't hover but perfectly was available when we needed anything. It is cash only, so be prepared for that; but totally worth it."
